Women come from around the state for our annual Women's Retreats. You will meet ladies from Duluth and Esko, St. Cloud, Alexandria, the Twin Cities, Fargo-Moorhead, and more.
Please join us April 13-15, 2012 for our Annual Women’s Retreat. Our Women’s Retreats are known for great programs, excellent meals, fun fellowship, and lots of activities that women of all ages can enjoy.
This year our guest presenter will be Elaine Bickel. Her topic will be “Faith in the Midst of the Jungle.”
Elaine Bickel is:
· The wife of a loving and understanding husband, Jim, a machinist.
· The proud mother of two unbelievably brilliant, talented, loving, and beautiful children.
· The principal of St. Paul Lutheran School in Millington, MI.
· The author of numerous Concordia Publishing House curriculum materials .
· The author of devotions and articles published in Lutheran Woman's Quarterly, Guideposts, and a variety of other publications.
· Experienced youth and family life director.
· A trained coordinator for Rainbows for All God's Children, a support group for children who are experiencing loss due to death or divorce.
· Recipient of the 1994 Saginaw News Crystal Apple Award for teaching excellence and consistently listed in Who's Who Among America's Teachers .
· Interviewed by Phyllis Wallace on "Woman to Woman."
· Member of the Board of Regents of Concordia University, Ann Arbor, MI.

You've been waiting all winter long for this week and weekend to arrive and we've added a second event to meet the need. Join other participants in spending time on your favorite craft, whether it is quilting, scrap booking, knitting, stamping, or other handicraft, there will be others here with a similar passion. You can arrive as early as Tuesday afternoon and stay through Sunday. Start and complete a project, work on something you've been wanting to for awhile; share with others; grow spiritually; make new friends, enjoy someone else's cooking; or just get away from hubby and the kids. Building Families Horse Retreats
This is a new program for Lutheran Island Camp. This program is intended for families who are working through challenges, wanting to be more close knit, or who are desiring to spend quality time with each other. We will be using a team of clergy, counselors, and horse specialists to build your family into a God pleasing circle of people committed to each other. Time will be spent with horses, but this is not a horseback riding program.Watch for more details. A Thrivent Financial for Lutherans grant is underwriting costs.
Dates: April 20-22, May 18-20
Cost: $85 per person not to exceed $350. Regular cost would be $120 per person. To register on-line click here.
Dates: April 27-April 29. Cost: Saturday is no cost. Friday evening and Saturday breakfast are $30. The entire weekend Friday night through Sunday brunch is $40.
May 18-19
This event will provide moms and their daughters with time for them to reflect on their relationships, their faith, and their futures. This provides a great opportunity to reacquaint with daughters who have moved away or to spend quality time with daughters who are still at home. Former staff member Judy Kretzschmar and her daughter Jewell will be leading the retreat. Watch for more information coming early in 2012.

Enjoy a week at Lutheran Island Camp with your family and grow in Christ through a series of Bible Studies and presentations by leading creation-scientists in person or by video. This program is intended for families, couples and individuals not tied to a school calendar. It’s an ideal opportunity forfamilies participating in home schooling.

Memorial Day Weekend is the official start of the grilling season. We'd like to grill up a storm for you that weekend. We'll have chicken, hamburgers, brats, and perhaps a turkey along with all of the fixings that make for a great meal. But you'll also receive nourishment of a different kind as we study God's word and share His love with family and friends. Join other photographers who have a special desire to learn how to capture God’s magnificent creation through their art. Led by a professional photographer, you’ll see nature as it prepares to wakeup from its winter nap. Ottertail County is one of the most beautiful areas of Minnesota.
