Our mission is to support the ministry of proclaiming and confessing Jesus Christ by nourishing the spiritual growth of those we serve, strengthening their service in Christ's name.

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off--for all whom the Lord our God will call."
Acts 2:38-39
2008 Summer Programs
"Heroes in the Word" is the 2008 theme for our summer programs. It will be a Christ centered, fun-filled summer for youth and adults alike. More important, we will spend time learning about heroes in the Bible and what their attributes were. Then we will look at how God uses His Word to give us the strength, heroconviction, and inspiration to be heroes in our everyday lives. Campers of all ages will be encouraged to bring their hero outfits to camp. Bring your costumes, pajamas, or favorite action figure. We want our campers to bring Superman, Mr. Incredible, Spiderman, Frozone, Elastigirl, Wonderwoman, and other characters. Brochures are scheduled to be mailed out very early in January. Changes for 2008:
Lutheran Island Camp provides a lifelong journey of faith. To recognize that, we will be identifying our various program offerings based on the journeys each of us take in our lifetime.

Explorer Camps: These are camps that are generally day youth events where participants do not stay overnight.
Passageway Camps: these are camps when youth age 3-8 come to camp with a parent, grandparent, or other guardian or relative. The campers stay with the adult, although older youth may opt to spend a night in a cabin with a counselor.
Trailblazer Camps: 8-11 year old campers will find coming to camp a wonderful experience. They will be challenged with fun, Bible study, great activities, and opportunity to try new things.
Voyageur Camps: these camps are for youth 12-14. Campers will be have time to lift their skills and experiences to new levels. While under supervision, they will have an opportunity to push themselves, share their faith, and participate in camp activities that are a bit more challenging (and fun).
Teen Trek Camps: we expect more from teens and they expect more from us. Teen Trek camps are unique, giving each youth an opportunity to test themselves and to learn through experiences, from other teens, and from experts who are invited to share their experitise. Each Teen Trek camp has a more detailed program plan.
Expedition Camps: Young Adults will find some new and exciting programs, often on weekends, for them. We welcome single and married participants. "Young" is a relative term, so if you think you are up to one of our expeditions, please join in.
Excursion Camps: Family events, senior programs, couples retreats, and more for adults fall under our Excursion programs. They tend to be more relaxing and geared to sharing ones faith, fun, and fellowship with other families, or adults.
Please note: we have many years of experience in putting age groups together that will provide the best event for our participants. If you feel your child would have a better experience in a different group, please give us a call and visit. You know your child better than we do and we are able to make exceptions. However, we reserve the right to do what we feel is best for the entire group, not just one individual.
