Greetings in Christ!
With the church year coming to an end, it is good for us to reflect on the wonderful spiritual blessings that God has given us this past year. He has answered so many of our prayers in His way and in His time. Through His Holy Spirit, God has touched so many young lives through Bible Study and worship at the Island. He has used the camp to bring special support to congregations, pastors, families, and individuals who are facing challenges. And, He has lifted up and supported our staff through many challenging professional and personal challenges. Praise God!
Coming up this weekend is a very special opportunity for Junior Counselors and Christ Serve participants. It is our annual Teen Servant Weekend. Participants will be going through some training exercises using our Equine College. In addition, we’ll take time to run over to Christ Serve Ranch for a tour and brainstorming exercises.
We are really excited about the interest in our Island Christmas Dinners. We already have over 40 people signed up, but still have plenty of room! We’ve gotten more folks signed up for our Christmas ride. We’ve scheduled a two day event during the week between Christmas and New Years. Riders will be riding in our arena as well as outdoors as weather permits. If it’s nice enough, we may even take some of the horses over to Christ Serve Ranch. Call the camp for more information!!
We are starting to receive quilts already for the 2012 Quilt Auction. With the change in website, we’ll be rebuilding that page in the next few weeks. We’ll let you know when it’s ready.
Don’t forget to put our 60th anniversary on your schedule. We’ll be celebrating it the weekend of June 22-24.

Question: Are you planning any new programs for teens?
Answer: Yes, we’ve added three weeks of Creation Safari for youth up to 14 and we have a very special event scheduled at the end of the summer that will feature a number of special speakers and the Erin Bode band.
