Our continuous prayer is that God would be with each of the Lutheran Island Camp family as the Coronavirus challenges each of our lives in different ways. We ask for your prayers as well. We pray that Summer 2020 will be successful
This time of year is always difficult for Lutheran Island Camp as we transition from our Retreat Season to Summer. We are especially excited about our 2020 theme of Come Home To The Island. As you might expect, the Covid 19 virus has had an effect even more challenging than the Great Recession of 2008-2009. Suddenly things have changed.
The Lutheran Island Camp Board of Directors at their meeting on Friday, March 20, 2020 did an immediate and, we hope, temporary layoff of all personnel. Thankfully we have some volunteers who are assisting with some of the essential duties including caring for the horses, covering some office tasks, and taking care of necessary reports, grant applications, and thanking our donors.
At this point the camp needs a minimum of $70,000 to pay existing bills and get geared back up for Summer 2020.
If you love Lutheran Island Camp, we invite you to Come Home To The Island by remembering us in your prayers and by helping us get the doors open once this pandemic has passed. God has already blessed us with nearly $10,000 in the last few days. Please consider going to our website to donate via Pay Pal or by sending a check to the camp. You may also donate through Thrivent.com to have your gift matched. Click here to donate at Thrivent
We ask that you remember our camp staff through this difficult time just as we are praying for you and the challenges that each of you faces. “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Ephesians 6:10-11
