Summer Programs 2024

Join us at Lutheran Island Camp for the summer! Click on your underlined session name to get started.

Classic Camp

Classic Camp gives kids of all ages the "classic" camp experience! Activities will vary depending on the age group - the older the kid, the bigger the adventure! Campers will have opportunities to make new friends and learn more about Jesus through daily Bible studies. Beginning with Explorers, all sessions include classics like archery, canoeing, and swimming.

Starting with Navigators, campers will have the opportunity to participate in hatchet throwing, the low ropes challenge course, and an introductory orienteering course. Adventurers do all that plus extended canoeing/kayaking adventures on East Battle Lake.

Horse Camp

Beginner Horse Camp is offered to Explorers and Navigators. Campers will learn the basics of ground safety around horses, grooming, tacking and untacking, and how to control their horse at a walk and trot in the arena and out on the trails. Campers will participate in swimming, canteen, evening program, and campfire back at the Island. No prior horse experience required. Mini Beginner Horse Camp is the weekend version of Beginner Horse Camp and is offered to Explorers only.

Starting with Intermediate Horse Camp, Navigators and Adventurers will continue to expand their skills and knowledge of ground safety, grooming, tacking and untacking, and controlling their horse at a walk, trot, and lope as abilities and staff judgment allow. Prior riding experience required.

Continuing into Advanced Horse Camp, Adventurers will review ground safety, grooming, and tacking and untacking. Campers will learn how to catch, lead, and tie up their horses.  Campers must have attended Intermediate Horse Camp or have outside horse experience with good balance. Must be comfortable riding a horse at a walk, trot, and lope.

Art Camp

This program is offered to Explorers, Navigators, and Adventurers who would love to spend most of the day working on art projects! The projects are designed by real artists and led by counselors and guest artists. Campers will complete several beautiful projects throughout the weekend, and will participate in swimming, canteen, Bible study, and campfire.

Fishing Camp

Do you have an enthusiastic fisherman on your hands? Offered to Explorers, Navigators, and Adventurers, campers will spend the weekend fishing the waters of East Battle Lake! Campers can bring their own equipment or use equipment LIC offers (additional charge, campers take it home!). Fishing is the main objective for the weekend, but other activities include swimming, canteen, Bible study, and campfire.

Outpost Camp

Embrace your adventurous side during this weekend campout at Christ Serve Ranch! Navigator and Adventurer campers will spend the weekend camping in teepees and tents, cooking over the fire, and developing their survival skills. Campers also participate in canteen, swim time, and campfire.

Splash Camp

Offered for Navigators and Adventurers who LOVE spending most of the day in the water. Splash Camp provides opportunities for lots of fun water activities - like the Water Olympics - and plenty of time on the beach! Campers will also participate in canteen, evening program, campfire, and Bible study.

Enjoy some quality time with your family at Lutheran Island Camp during Family Camp! As a family, you will be largely in charge of your schedule, but you will have the opportunity to participate in various programmed games and activities. Spend the day playing frisbee golf and throwing hatchets or soak up the sun at the beach! Morning singing, Bible studies, canteen, and campfire times are offered. Stay the whole week or arrive and depart as your schedule permits.

Little Lambs Camp

Little Lambs is an opportunity for parents and children to spend some quality time together, explore camp, and learn about Jesus. Little Lambs has a relaxed schedule with activities like swimming, parachute games, crafts, and sandcastle building.

High School Camp

Just because you’re in high school doesn’t mean the fun of camp is over. Back this year, High School Week is offered to campers entering 9th - 12th grade. This week-long camp focuses on adventure, service, and leadership. Revisit your favorite camp activities and experience new adventures and challenges - like offsite day trips filled with outdoor experiences and service projects. If you serve as a JC this summer, you are still eligible for this camp!
