Our mission is to support the ministry of proclaiming and confessing Jesus Christ by nourishing the spiritual growth of those we serve, strengthening their service in Christ's name.

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off--for all whom the Lord our God will call."
Acts 2:38-39

Chapel Progress being made

Chapel interior

We want to thank the many individuals and congregations that have already supported our effort to improve and winterize the Chapel. Special thanks to St. John's Lutheran in Rush City for their $3,000 contribution and to the Redeemer-Burnsville foundation for their recent gift of $500. See below about our matching gifts program.  We've just received word that the St Cloud Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has awarded us a $1600 grant for a hands-on-work project scheduled for July 11. Come out and join us.

Team heads to Iowa
A team of staff, former staff, and Junior Counselors left the Island on Sunday, June 14 for Cedar Rapids, Iowa where they will be working with about 40-50 children affected by last year's terrible floods in that area. This partnership between Lutheran Social Services, Lutheran Island Camp and congregations in the Cedar Rapids area is called Camp Noah. A similar team will be heading to Farg-Moorhead in August to help put on a Camp Noah program at Concordia College in Moorhead. We're looking for volunteers for that program. You can read a report about their trip by clicking here.

2009 Brochures are here and available

The 2009 summer brochures have arrived at Lutheran Island Camp. If you haven't received your brochure, be sure to give us a call right away. We are recruiting "God's Secret Agents" and we want you to join us.

Want to help with the renovation and winterization of the Chapel? We have several projects going on this Spring. We need volunteers and donations to cover the $60,000 cost of siding, insulation, windows and interior paneling. Send your check marked "Matching Funds" and join other congregations, organizations, and individuals who are helping enhance the appearance and use of the Chapel. Last Fall we raised $20,000 to help with the cost of electrical and siding work. The electrical work and insulation is now complete as far as we can go. We've also finished the exterior siding. Just announced: We have a donor who has agreed to match $1 for every $2 donated up to $12,000 for the chapel work. Send your donation in now! Update: as of June 15th we have just about reached the half way mark on our matching funds.

Servant Event volunteers as well as staff and other volunteers have renovated the exterior of the Chapel. We're now ready for the interior renovation

Many of our programs this fall, winter, and early spring will include a trip to the Thumper Pond Water Park.
